Does Saying the Pledge endorse the Evils of American Culture

Q) Should Christians say the Pledge of Allegiance since our nation is no longer following a Christian path?
This is a tough decision, but a decision each follower of Christ should make for themselves.  The Pledge of Allegiance, was originally written by Francis Bellamy in 1892, a Baptist minister and Socialist.  The Pledge itself was not adopted by the United States until 1942.   The pledge in itself is not bad, but what is the need to pledge one self to a government, shouldn't it be the opposite, the government pledge itself to it's people?
